1. FHL book "The Cossart Family," by Joseph A. Cossairt, 1936, p. 52:
"COSSART, COSART, COSSAIRT, CASSAIRT, COSSAART, COESART, COSAT, COSSATT, KOSSART, COZAT, COZATT, CASSAT, CASSATT, COZART, ETC.
154. Susannah Cossart, daughter of David Cossart (9), baptised at New York City, April 10, 1709. She married Richard Conine and on September 20, 1733 they appear at the Raritan church to have their first child David baptised. The child was doubtless named for its grandfather David Cossart (9) and the name of the grandmother Christina Cossart appears as a witness.
The following month October 29th her brother George Cossart (150) and wife Elizabeth Hoaglandt have their daughter Jannetie baptised when their mother Christina again appears as the witness and on December 23rd following another brother Jacob Cossart (151) and wife Wilhelmina Kinney have a daughter Lydia baptised. Susanna Conine is named as a witness to this baptism.
Rev. Theodore F. Frelinghuysen then being pastor of the Raritan church. July 25, 1736 Richard and Susannah again appear to have a son John baptised. Her brother George Cossart (150) and wife Elizabeth appear as witnesses. On January 1, 1740 Richard Conine appears alone at the Raritan church to have a son Jacob baptised. The witness being William and wife Elizabeth Krock. On this same day Susannah's cousin John Cossart and wife Catherine Hoagland had a son John baptised. This being very near the date on which Susannah's father David Cossart (9) died. Probably accounts for her as well as others of her father's family not being present at this time.
As the name of Richard (Derrick) Conine and his wife Susannah do not appear on the records of the Raritan church it is also possible that Susannah may have died when this son was born, or that they removed from this locality after her father's death."
2. Undocumented from Family Search note of a patron:
"Dirck Conyn, bp. 1685, Albany Dutch Church, as son of Phillip Leendertse CONYN and his wife, Wynte Dirckse van Vechten. Dirck's will made a Piscataway, 1751; probated the same year, named himself "gentlemen"; early settler in Piscataway and freeholder Middlesex County NJ, member of congregation of Raritan Dutch Church by 1714 or earlier. Information is taken directly from "History of The Vandenbark Family," by Isa D. Reedand Helen Vandenbark, 1969. Children by 2nd wife, Susanna COSSART. 1. Davit, bp. 1732/33. Bequest in father's will. No further data. 2. Johannes, bp. 1736. Bequest in father's will. No further data. 3. Jacob, bp. Jan 1, 1737/40. Bequest in father's will. See story of Jacob CONINE and descendents in "History of the Vandenbark Family, by Isa Reedand Helen Vandenbark, 1969. No child by Cathlynte is mentioned in Dirck CONYN'S will. Aside from specific bequests to six sons by two former wives, entire estate is left to last wife. No mention is made of minor children though all of Susanna'schidlren were under age at the time. A Dirck CONYN and Cathlynte --------- were parents of a child Peteris, bp. 1742 in the Raritan Dutch Church and a Dirck CONYN and Cathlyntje La Fevre parents of a child Leendert, bp 1744 in the Harlingen Church, a sort of subsidiary of the Raritan Church. Both Peter and Leendert are possible CONYN connections. This Peteris is probably the Peter CONINE of Conewageo Colony and York Co. PA."
