      4. Per Rosemary Cundiff at the Research Center of the Utah State Archives : "Early boundaries for Washington, Kane, and Iron counties were fairly unstable during Utah's territorial period. Today Kanarraville is just north of the Washington County border in Iron county. Based on maps showing county boundary changes, it looks like Kanarra was in Washington County when first settled in 1862, and that it had become part of Kane County by 1870. The Kane/Washington/Iron boundary was altered again in 1885, and at that time Kanarra probably became part of Iron County. Although, Kanara is not on the historical maps I am using, it could possibly have been once more in Washington County for a while. The county boundaries as currently established were in place by 1896." Kerry's note: Kanarra's name was changed to Kanarraville when the city incorporated in 1934. The first white settlers came from Fort harmony when heavy rains washed out the fort in 1862. Several Toquerville families also relocated there, and the community was further fortified in the late 1860's by the arrival of Long Valley settlers fleeing Indian problems.

      BIRTH:
      1. Obituary states 7 Oct 1844 whereas Hanks book states 7 Oct 1845 in Nauvoo. Unsure which is more correct. All Ancestry.com 9 Dec 2002 sites indicate 7 Oct 1845.

      MARRIAGE:
      1. Hanks book varies on date. P. 49 states 22 Jan 1860 in Endowment House and cites "Hanks family record" as source. Ordinance Index confirms no such date and uses 6 Apr 1861. Hanks book on p. 201 states 6 Apr 1861. I use the 1861 date.

      2. Per Hanks book cited below, Sarah's second marriage was Henry Matthias Burnell, 25 May 1888, probably at Hanksville, Wayne, Utah (Piute Co. Marriage License 1887-1893 bk "I," p. 13 - Hanksville was then in Piute County). Bunnell was born 21 Aug 1830, New Orleans, Lousiana, and said in the census of 1900 his father was french and his mother scotch. It has been suggested his mother's maiden name was McLain, but no evidence exists except this as his daughter's middle name. He died 18 Mar 1908, Hanksville, bur. 20 Mar. 1908, Hanksville. He had been a trapper, postmaster, and school trustee.

      DEATH:
      1. Per Hanks book cited below, Sarah died 20 Feb 1920, Kanarraville, Iron, Utah (tombstone says 19 Feb).

      BURIAL:
      1. Most sites at Ancestry.com 10 Dec 2002 note 25 Feb 1920 at Kanarraville, Iron, UT, but without documentation.

      OBITUARY:
