      1. Mentioned in mother's obituary in Ogden, Utah newspaper: "Ruth M. Hales. Clinton - Ruth McLean Hales left this earth on Tuesday, April 5, 2005, with the same dignity and grace as she lived each day. She was born November 26, 1917, in Ogden, Utah to Levi C. and Clarissa May McLean. She was the ninth of ten children and her sister, Verda Larsen of Alexandria, Virginia, survives her. Ruth married Charles H. "Jack" Hales on November 30, 1937, and from that union they had four children: Kenneth (Linda) Hales, Boise, ID; Suzan (Robert) Meyer, North Ogden; Bonnie (Lyle) Larson, Roy; Charles (Sally) Hales, Los Alamos, NM.; six grandchildren, Roger Hales, Scott Hales, Kathy Judd, Crissy Muse, Mike Larson, Dave Larson and 16 great-grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Jack, her first born Ken, her parents, six brothers and two sisters..."

      1. Ogden Standard-Examiner, Thurs., Oct. 1, 2009:
      "North Ogden - Suzan Hales Meyer passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at McKay-Dee Hospital. She was 66 years old.
      Suzan was born October 24, 1942 in Ogden, Utah, the first child of Charles "Jack" and Ruth Hales.
      She married Robert E. Meyer on June 2, 1964. They later received their endowments and were seled together for Eternity in the Ogden LDS Temple on March 9, 2002.
      Suzan graduated from Ben Lomond High School. She graduated from the St. Benedicts Hospial School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse on September 5, 1963. She also graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Weber State University, and on Dec. 15, 1983 she received her M.S. degree in Nursing Administration from the University of Utah.
      Suzan worked at St. Benedict's Hospital in the Emergency Room, and as a Nursing Supervisor for over 20 years. She was also the Director of Nursing at the Brigham City Community Hospital. Suzan retired from Weber State University where she taught as an Assistant Professor of Nursing at the Davis Applied Technology Center.
      Surviving are her husband and two daughters; Kathryn Judd of Rockwell, Texas and Clarissa Muse of Mountain Green, Utah; her sister, Bonnie (Lyle) Larson, Roy, Utah; brother, Charles (Sally) Hales, Los Alamos, NM; and Linda Hales, Eagle, CO; as well as seven grandchildren.
      She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Kenneth L. Hales.
      Funeral services will be held Sat., Oct. 3rd at 11 a.m. at the North Ogden 7th Ward, 205 E. Elberta Drive in North Ogden.
      Family and friends may call Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd., and Sat. from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the Ward Chapel.
      Interment, Ogden City Cemetry, 1875 Monroe Blvd., Ogden, Utah.
      A luncheon will be held afterward at teh Nrth Ogden 7th Ward for friends and family.
