      OBITUARY:
      1. "Franklin Alexander Hales, 76, died at the family residence, 1964 Thirteenth East street, Wed. at 7:10 p.m. of ailments incident to age. He was identified with the stock raising and farming circles of Utah and Idaho for more than 40 years. Born in Salt Lake Jan. 16, 1859, son of Stephen and Lydia Eveline Carter Hales, he was employed in the stock business in Utah until he moved to Idaho in 1892. He operated a ranch near Rexburg from 1892 until his death. In 1907 he returned to Salt Lake and had since resided here, although operating the Rexburg ranch. He married Lucy Hales in the Endowment House March 9, 1881. She died 18 months ago. Surviving are two sons, Charles Hales, Los Angeles, and Bernall Hales, Salt Lake; three daughters, Mrs. Pearl Elsworth and Mrs. Adelaide Hales, Salt Lake and Mrs. Frances Ralph, Rains; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren."
