BIRTH:
1. Live endowment/parental sealing record by Charles gives 13 Jul 1857 at Lebanon, Linn, Oregon with parents Luther Tuttle Woodward and Elizabeth Hall. Cemetery record has variant date of 3 Jul 1857. I go with the temple date since he gave it himself to the temple.
2. His burial record as quoted below notes father as Charles Woodward with no entry for mother. This father's name conflicts with the live endowment and sealing done in the LDS temple. I believe the Charles as father to be mistake. I do find Luther and Elizabeth in Oregon in 1860 and 1870 supporting the temple parentage and their reported birth places match per what Charles reports in subsequent years. Charles should appear, however, he does not unless he is really the Luther respectively noted as ages 3 and 12 - perhaps with a later name change just as he changed the name of his adopted son James Rue VanWickle to Herbert Rue Woodward. This would also explain why as Charles Woodward he does not show up in the pre-1900 censuses.
MARRIAGE:
1. Ancestral File reports a marriage to Anne Crowther in Feb 1821 apparently after the death of Cherizade. She was born 17 May 1868 in Hunslet, Yorkshire, England and died 17 Feb 1961 in Ogden with a burial on 19 Feb 1961 in Salt Lake City. Appears she was married three times: (1) John Whetstein Shupe, 18 Jan 1910 in Ogden, (2) Charles Woodward, and (3) Benjamin Benz, Feb 1939.
