c. In brother Charles Henry Hales' obituary of 18 Jan 1952, he is noted as a survivor: Asael Hales, Echo, Summit County, Murray.
2. "Golden Wedding" newspaper announcement: "Mr. and Mrs. A.L. Hales; Echo, Summit County - Mr. and Mrs. Acel L. Hales will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary Sunday at their home in Echo. Friends and relatives are invited to call from 3 to 8 p.m. No gifts requested. Mr. Hales was born April 19, 1889, in Junction, Piute County, a son of Charles Henry and Ann Adair Hales. Mrs. Hales is the former Edna Cooper, a daughter of Sequine and Ellen Dickinson Cooper. She was born Nov. 23, 1888, in Panguitch. They were married Dec. 21, 1908, at Junction. Their marriage was later solomnized [sic] in the Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mr. Hales was a farmer for 15 years and has worked the past 30 years as a carpenter for Union Pacific Railroad. Both are active in Church affairs. They have four living sons and daughters. Acel L. Hales Jr., Ogden; Virl C. Hales, Wyoming; Mrs. Willis (Nellie) Raskop, Quinter, Kan., and Mrs. Gilbert (Zalma) Roberts, Rock Springs, Wyo. They have seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren."
