OBITUARY:
1. "Heber Victor Shupe, 81, of 1509 Madison, died Saturday, July 14, 1979, at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City of cancer. Mr. Shupe was born Aug 10, 1897 in Ogden, a son of John Whitstein and Annie Crowther Shupe. On Feb. 20, 1939, he was married to Thelma Petersen in Ogden. He had been a security guard at the Ogden Arsenal, and retired from Hill Air Force Base in 1970. He was reared and educated in Ogden. He was a member of the LDS Church and Woodmen of the World. He had played semi-professional baseball for the Macabees. He served in the Navy in World War I. He was the owner of Riverside Mobile Park. (Surviving family members are listed as well as details on the funeral. The funeral was conducted by the LDS Bishop.)" Ogden Standard-Examiner newspaper dated July 16, 1979; photo included.
