      1. The following two items are on file but unsure as to which Cornelius Osborne they refer:
      a. "Declaration of Intention To Become a Citizen of the United States. I, Cornelius Osborne do declare, on oath, that it is bona fide my intention to become a Citizen of the United States of America and to renounce and abjure forever, all allegiance and fidelity, to all and any Foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of Great Britain and Ireland of whom I was a subject. Sworn and subscribed to before me, at my office, at Ogden City, this 29th day of April, A.D. 1872. [Signed] Cornelius Osborne. G. Myron Hawley, Clerk of the U.S. Supreme Court, in and for the Territory of Utah, per G.C. Wright, dpty. I, C. Myron Hawley, Clerk of the U.S. Supreme Court, in and for the Territory of Utah, do certify that the above is a true copy of the Original Delaration of Intention of Cornelius Osborne to become a Citizen of the United States of America, remaining on record in my office. In testimony whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name, and affixed the Seal of said Court, at my office, in Salt Lake City in said Territory this eighth day of May A.D. 1872. [Signed] C.       b. "Certificate of Citizenship. United States of America, Territory of Utah - SS. Be it remembered, that on the tenth day of May in the year of our Lord, 1882, Cornelius Osborne, late of England in the Kingdom of Great Britain at present of Ogden City in the Territory aforesaid, appeared in the First Judicial District Court of the United States, in and for Utah Territory, and applied to the said Court to be admitted to become a Citizen of the United States of America, pursuant to the directions and requirements of the several Acts of Congress in relation thereto. And the said Cornelius Osborne, having thereupon produced to the Court such evidence, made such declartion and renunciation, and taken such oaths as are by the said Acts required; thereupon it was ordered by the said Court that the said Cornelius Osborne be admitted, and he was accordingly admitted by the said Court to be a Citizen of the United States of America. In testimony whereof, the Seal of the said Court is hereunto affixed, this 10 day of May, in the year 1882, and in the year of our Independence the 106th. A.C. Everson, Clerk."

      2. Mentioned in mother's obituary as the proprietor of the Chamberlin Hotel in 1890: "Last evening at 9:12 Mrs. Cornelius Osborne died of dropsy in the City. She had been ailing for many years. She was eighty years and five months old, and came here from Islington, London in 1871 having resided in Ogden ever since. She is the mother of Cornelius Osborne, now the proprietor of the Chamberlin Hotel. The funeral services are to be held in the 4th Ward meeting house at ten a.m. next Sunday.       1. "Ogden - Cornelius Osborne, 87, died Wednesday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. LeRoy Farley, 2250 Ogden avenue. He was born in England, May 27, 1847, a son of Cornelius and Harriett Osborne. He joined the Church in England and came to Utah 64 years ago. He was an active member of the Church being a high priest in North Weber stake. He was a pioneer chef having worked at the Broom hotel in 1882 and at the Union Station in 1878. He was also a foreman during the construction of the Utah Central railroad at Kelton and Terrace. Surviving him are the following Childen: Mrs. LeRoy Farley, Walter C. Osborne and Mrs. Nephi Bennett, all of Ogden, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Jan. 27 at 2 p.m. in the Third ward chapel, with Bishop M.B. Richardson in charge. Interment will be made in the Ogden city cemetery." Deseret News, Fri., 25 Jan 1935.

      2. "Ogden - Cornelius Osborne, 87, pioneer resident of Ogden, died Wednesday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. LeRoy Farley, 2255 Ogden avenue, following a three month illness. Mr. Osborne was born in England on May 27, 1847, a son of Cornelius and Harriett Osborne. He came to America from his native land 64 years ago and had resided in Ogden since that time. He worked for some time as a foreman for the Utah Central railroad in Kelton and Terrace, Box Elder. He was chef in the Ogden Union station in 1878 and was the first chef of the Broom hotel when it was completed in 1882. Mr. Osborne retired several years ago. He was a member of the L.D.S. church Third ward and North Weber stake high priest's quorum. He was married to Miss Emma Victie, who died in Ogden a number of years ago. Surviving are two daughters and one son: Mrs. LeRoy Farley, Mrs. Nephi Bennett, and Walter C. Osborne, all of Ogden; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The Larkin & Sons mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements."
