1. Censuses; note that 1880 census and higher appear to be the same George Winner because of his tie back to Raritan, Monmouth, NJ by 1900 (see below for his mother's land transaction in Raritan and her tie to Reuben Winner) - however, this is unproven so far with vital records:

2. Member submittal entry in online Ordinance Index shows: George Henry Winner, b. 6 Apr 1842 in New Jersey and d. 6 Apr 1918 in New Jersey with baptism 15 Jan 2003 BOUNT and endowment 15 May 2003 SLAKE. This appears to be circumstantially the same George as what I have in the censuses considering a birth of Apr 1842 in New Jersey and living past 1910. Also there is the middle initial of H. vs. Henry. There are no other George Winners in New Jersey born circa 1842 in the censuses than this one that I can find.

OBITUARY:
1. "Matawan Journal" newspaper of Matawan, NJ, archival copies available online, publ. 11 Apr 1918, page 1, column 3:
"George H. Winner died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mary Sloat of Redgewood, on Saturday morning, and his remains were interred in Green Grove Cemetery, Keport, monday afternoon.
Mr. Winner, in his younger days lived in Matawan. He was a Civil War veteran, and after his discharge he became a member of the New York police force, upon which he served for nearly half a century. He has been on the retired list for some years, and made his home at Westwood, although he spent a good part of his time in Keyport, where he had a motor boat and frequently went fishing in Raritan Bay. About three weeks ago he had an attack of heart trouble, but recovered sufficiently to go to his daughter's home in Ridgwood and soon after arriving there about two weeks ago he had another attack, which resulted fatally."
