    • RESEARCH_NOTES:
      1. See the following website for a multigenerational descendancy of John Scott and Elenor Charlton: <http://teamapproach.ca/tal/charlton.html>. Among the first generation, the site lists the following, which I neither confirm nor deny. It also notes John is the brother of Peter, William, and possibly Thomas. The children:
      "-James Scott, bz1768Jun10, Warkswood, Simonburn.
-Thomas Scott, bz1769Nov2, Warkswood, Simonburn, d1846Mar27, Hexham Workhouse, Paralysis, stoneMason = Frances Snowdon, bz1772Feb14, m1792Jul29, Haltwhistle, daughter of John & Frances Snowdon of Haltwhistle, d1857Apr, Haydon Bridge Almshouse. 2nd son named for mother's father.
-Peter Scott, bz1771Jun2, Warkswood, Simonburn, farmer of Spittal, d1847May1, age76, Haydon Bridge General Debility m1796Mar3 by Rev. John Thompson witness Wm. Scott Thos. Huddlestone brother = Isabella Huddlestone, daughter of Thomas Huddlestone d1794 tailor & Jane Deans, bz1773Jan9, d1869Feb14, age95, 1861living in almshouse at Haydon Bridge with daughter Isabella.
-John Scott, bz1775Mar19, Warkswood, Simonburn. 3rd son named for father himself.

      CHRISTENING:
      1. Looking at the various possibilities based on a birth ca. 1737 based on the burial record, I find the following with IGI extracted records and FHL films:
      -Simonburn (FHL film 252551):
-27 Jun 1736, John Scott, son of Mark Scott, Craigshoild.
-7 Apr 1738, John Scott, son of John Scott, Simondburn.
-Bellingham (FHL film 252545 from 1720-1740): No results.
      -Chollerton: No results.
      -Corsenside: Nor results.
      -Elsdon: No results.
Anton Hill, the location identified in his marriage record, is a farm manor about 2 miles south of Bellingham.
My sense is that the second entry in Simondburn is the most likely possibility since John and Elenor's children are generally christened in Simonburn. Also they has no children named Mark, but they do have a John. This of course if flimsy evidence for a conclusive determination.

      MARRIAGE:
      1. FHL film 252546, Bellingham marriage records beginning 1754: 24 May 1767, Eleanor Charlton, of Stobbylee, and John Scott of Antonhill, both of this chapelry, wit: Thos. Charlton and Thomas Charlton.

      BURIAL:
      1. FHL film 1068609, Newbrough Chapel burial records (note her brother George Charlton was of the same hamlet of Fourstones):
-Eleanor Scott, wife of John Scott, labourer, d. 6 May 1799, bur. 8 May 1799, of Fourstones, 64 years old.
-John Scott, bur. 27 Aug't 1818, of Newbrough, age 81.
