      http://aleph0.clarku.edu/~djoyce/gen/report/rr01/rr01_394.html#P9304: "Thomas died at Hartford, CT, on 5 Feb 1733. Thomas married Sarah Speck, daughter of Gerard Speck (-ca 1686) & Mary Purchase. Born say 1655."

      2. The book "Families of Early Hartford, Connecticut," Lucius Barnes Barbour, 1982 ed.: "Gerald Speck mar. bef Nov 26, 1663 Mary Purchase dau of John Purchase/Purkas and Jane. Children:
      Sarah m. Thomas Burr.
      Hartford 1665; chimney viewer 1671; an agreement made between him and Thomas Burr Feb 22, 1685-6 provides that Burr will maintain Speck with all the 'necessaries comely and convenient for such an aged person' and Speck agrees for these conditions, and for the love he bears to Burr and his wife, to give them all his estate, house, barn and home-lot."

Charles Burr Todd, "A General History of the Burr Family," Knickerbocker Pr., New York, 1902: "Benjamin's will, dated 2 Jan 1677, mentions his wife Anna Burre, sons Samuel and Thomas, and daughters Hannah Burre and Mary Crowe; granddaughter Mary Crowe; wife and son Thomas executors, witnesses John Gilbert and William Pitkin." Also notes: "Thomas Burr, of Hartford, Ct., m. Sarah, dau. of Gerard Speck of Hart. Thomas ... owned covenant of 1st ch. Hartford, 15 Mar 1695-6. His wife Sarah 16 Apr 1693, bapt. same day. Thomas Burr d. 1733. His will dated 29 Apr 1722, with a codicil 20 May 1731, proved 5 Feb 1733-4, names children [below].
      He gave his sons Thomas and Daniel his lands east of the Conn. River; his undivided lands at New Bantam equally to Thomas, Samuel, and Jonathan.
      Of the daus. Ann (bapt. 4 Nov 1694) m. 18 Jan 1721-2, Obadiah Spencer (bapt. 4 Aug 1695), s. of Obadiah and Ruth Spencer. [Their children listed.] Ann, the mother, d. 29 Aug 1765.
      Sarah owned covenant 1st Church Hartford 8 Mar, 1695-6, d. 16 Oct 1750, ae. 69 yrs. Willed her lands in Hart. to Dr. Isaac Burr, son of her bro., Rev. Isaac, 50 pounds to Daniel, son of her bro. Daniel. Samuel Burr, her bro., exec. of her will, dated 1750.
      Hannah d. 23 Dec 1763. ('The aged Hannah Burr d.,' etc. - 1st Church Records Hartford.).
      Abigail bapt. 25 Oct 1702, m. Capt. Timothy Phelps (perhaps a 2d wife). 'Abigail, w. of Capt. Timothy Phelps, d. 4 Sep 1760.' (1st Ch. Rec. Hart.).
