      3. Per website noted in misc. sources below, parents are Nathan Langston and Catherine Smith who lived in both Union and Spartanburg Counties of South Carolina.

      4. Family appears to have been in Chattooga County, Georgia by 1840 since there are several daughters who marry from 1840 on per the website www.gagenweb.com.

      BIRTH:
      1. Rootsweb Worldconnect project: several databases. Censuses do not conflict.

      MARRIAGE:
      1. From the 1820 census, we see the family had five children under age 10. Assuming a minumum of one and a half years between Children, this would mean a marriage date no later than about 1812. Several databases on Rootsweb's Worldconnect show the oldest son Spire Alford Langston being born 11 Apr 1813 in South Carolina.

      DEATH:
      1. Rootsweb Worldconnect project: several databases.
