      1. Benjamin F. Woodward, Church, Mining Man Dies. Benjamin Franklin Woodward, 78, mining man and active Church worker, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Nancy M. Odgers, 125 R. Street, yesterday at 9:15 pm after a heart attack. Services will be held Sunday at 11 am at the Deseret Mortuary, 36 East Seventh South Street, by Bishop Hans M. Hansen of the Southgate Ward. Burial will be in the family plot at Spanish Fork. Mr. Woodward was born Sept. 7, 1860 at Spanish Fork, son of James and Nancy McCurdy Woodward. He married Caroline E Hales Jan. 10, 1884, celebrating their fifty-fifth wedding anniversary last month. While a young man Mr. Woodward drove freight wagons between New Mexico and Utah. After learning masonry, he entered a partnership with Parry A. Thomas of Spanish Fork and contracted to construct culverts on the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad, being built into the Tintic Mining District and Sanpete Valley. Since 1890, he has been engaged in mining in Marysville, the Tintic District, and in Nevada. He was bishop of the Diamond Ward in the Tintic District from 1895 until 1903. Surviving are his widow, three sons, Charles S. Grant G., and Milton H. Woodward; two daughters, Mrs. Georgia Sanders and Mrs. Odgers; 31 grand children and five great-grandchildren all of Salt Lake; a sister, Mrs. Nancy James of Venice, Calif., and two brothers, D.C. and R.       2. "Native of Utah Succumbs at S.L. Home. Heart Attack Ends Life of B.F. Woodward. Benjamin Franklin Woodward, 78, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Nancy M. Odgers of 125 R street, Thursday at 9:15 p.m., of a heart attack. Mr. Woodward was born Sep. 7, 1860, in Spanish Fork, a son of James and Nancy McCurdy Woodward. He married Carline E. Hales on Jan. 10, 1884, and the couple celebrated their fifty-fifth anniversary this year. Took Culvert Contract. During his young manhood he drove freight wagons between Utah and New Mexico, and later learned the trade of masonry. With Parry A. Thomas of Spanish Fork he contracted the construction of culverts for the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad company on the Tintic mining district and Sanpete valley lines. Since 1890 he has been engaged in mining activites in the Marysvale, Tintic and Nevada mining districts. An active member of the L.D.S. church, he was bishop of the Diamond ward in the Tintic district from 1895 to 1903. Survivors Named. Surviving are his widow; three sons, Charles S., Grant G., and Milton H. Woodward; two sisters, Mrs. Georgia Sanders and Mrs. Odgers, all of Salt Lake City; two brothers D.C. and Robert L. Woodward of Salt Lake City and a sister, Mrs. Nancy James of Venice, Cal., and 31 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 11 a.m. at 36 East Seventh South street, with Bishop Hans N. Hansen of the Southgate L.D.S. ward officiating. Creer were speakers Sunday at funeral services held for Benjamin Franklin Woodward, 78, 125 R Street, active L.D.S. member, who died Thursday of a heart attack. Bishop Hans N. Hansen of Southgate L.D.S. ward, was in charge of services, conducted at 11 a.m. at 36 East 7th So. street. Burial in the family plot in Spanish Fork cemetery concluded the ceremony.
