1. The book "Anthony Dorchester and his Descendants," by Janice P. Dorchester (1998) Janice P. Dorchester, p. 7:
"MARY2 DORCHESTER (Anthony1) was born Windsor, Hartford, Connecticut, about 1648; died 7 February 1712.
She married her step-brother, JOHN HARMON, JR., son of John and Elizabeth Harmon, on 7 January 1668, in Springfield, Massachusetts.
John received 30 acres of land from Anthony Dorchester in 1664. After Mary's father's death in 1683, she went to court in Springfield against her brothers, John and James, asking for additional funds in the settlement of her father's estate and was awarded 40 pounds. The settlement came in 1684 when she and John Harmon received additional land from the brothers.
Children (HARMON), born in Springfield, Massachusetts:
i. SARAH3, born about 1669; died young.
ii. MARY, born 23 October 1671.
iii. SARAH, born about 1673.
iv. JOHN, born about 1675.
v. ELIZABETH, born about 1677.

Notes Individual: Following is a 1998 correspondence with rmBishop@aol.com (Robert M. Bishop, 311 E. Walnut St. Avon Park, FL 33825: "John Harmon Sr. - our ancestor - was a mariner who sailed on the ship Bachelor from London to Boston in August 1835 seeking employment in the colonies... John Harmon Jr. - our ancestor - and his wife, Mary Dorchester, remained in Springfield where both were born, 1641 and abt 1645, respectively. They were married 7 Jan 1668/9. We have data on four children. Page 160 of Harmon Genealogy (by Artemus Harmon) should be consulted for the others. The first four children were: Sarah b. 14 Oct 1669; d. 13 Nov 1673; Mary b. 2 3 Oct 1671, m. 26 May 1696 Zachariah; Sarah b. 1 Feb 1765/6; John b. 2 Mar 1677/8 m. 22 Jun 1 710 Hannah Sexton, d. 12 Oct 1742; and our ancestor, Elizabeth b. 3 Dec 1680; m. 26 Mar 1706 Caleb Munson, d. 11 Feb 1739. John and Mary died within a few days of each other in Feb 17 11/12."
History of Springfield Vol II pg. 93: John appointed overseer of a company of workers at the highways. John Harmon for "Ye way up the long hill over ye Mill River."
Harman-Harmon Genealogy pg. 29 states that John Harmon of the second generation was a soldier in King Phillip's War. His daughter, Mary, married Sergeant Zachariah Booth on May 26, 1696. Pg. 31 states: A valuable book to consult is "King Phillip's War" by Bodge and Registers of Colonial Wars.
