1. 27 May 2007 Worldconnect database ":1821208" of Donald Palmer : Shows marriage of Martha Frost, b. 12 Aug 1748, d. 9 Apr 1811 in Litchfield, Herkimer, New York, m. 1 Dec 1770 to Eli Gillett, b. 28 Sep 1749 in Granville, Hampden, MA, d. 29 Feb 1824 in Litchfield, and with 8 children all born in Granville from 1772 to 1787. Sources given are "Vital Records or Granville, Flora Clark Records, vol. 2, p. 136, and 1790 Census for Granville for Eli Gillet."

4. Vital Records of Granville, MA shows Eli's son Abijah: "Sally Jones and Abijah Gillet of Litchfield, NY, Feb. 12, 1798. [Feb. 11, PR6]. This establishes family ties between Granville and Litchfield.
5. Today's Hampden County of Massachusetts was originally Middlesex County until it was split off in 1662 and named Hampshire County. Hampden County was formed from Hampshire County in 1812.
6. Online Ordinance Index has extracted record per FHL film 185381, batch C500841: "Elihu Gillet, b. 3 Apr 1744 at Granville to Ely and Martha Gillet." Elihu is a son of Eli and Martha.
