1. On 30 May 1774, John Pain, base born son of Mary Pain, was baptized. Thomas may or may not have been the biological father of John Pain. John's chr. record of 30 May 1774 is the same day as the marriage of his mother Mary Pain to Thomas Clinch. No father is given in the baptismal record.

To the memory of Mary wife of Thomas Clinch who departed this life August 6th 1810 [1819] aged 65 years. She was a faithfull wife who lived and feared God above many. Also the above Thomas Clinch who departed this life April 10th [19th] 1820 aged 71 years. The Lord God of Heaven and of Earth keepeth covenant and showeth mercy unto them that love Him and keep his commandments."
